Even though she’s one of country music’s fastest rising stars, Kelsea Ballerini admits that being a role model is important to her, and that she tries to be a positive influence to young girls.

In an interview with GQ, the singer stated, “I see little girls at my meet-and-greets who are like, ‘Kelsea! It’s my first concert and I came to see you.’ And I’m thinking, ‘I don’t want to post anything online that your mom would be mad at me for, because you’re important to me.’”

Kelsea is working on her sophomore album, which she says will have a more mature sound, than First Time, which is due out later this year.
