Plano Police is warning people of a warrant scam. Check out their alert below and what to do if these scammers call you.
The post Plano PD shared on social media reads: Please be aware that scammers have been calling some of our citizens claiming to be a Plano Police Officer. After falsely identifying themselves, they tell the citizen there is a warrant out for their arrest and they must pay immediately or get arrested. This is not us! They are providing a real name and number of our Officers in an attempt to make it seem legitimate. If you get a call from someone claiming to be us, DO NOT PAY anything until after you have called us first. Our number is 972-424-5678 and ask for the Warrant Unit.
