We got to talk to Lauren Kitchens of Fancy Cakes by Lauren in Dallas about the details and how the wedding cake came about. We also learned that half the cake servings were vanilla creme cake with salted caramel filling and vanilla butter icing. The other half was red velvet cake with cream cheese icing. Lauren told us she did not know initially who she was making the cake for, but only knew it was for a VIP client when she was contacted by Todd Events. After she agreed to make the cake, it was revealed to her that it was for Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani. Gwen wanted Lauren to recreate the cake her parents had. Lauren told us it was difficult to find a lot of the swans and bells that were used in the 60’s to be included with a piping design called Lambeth.
