When you head out to Billy Bob’s Texas for that next concert or to hang out, you’ll notice something different. A new dance floor. According to their press release and social media posts, the change came this week.
After 37 years and more than 17 million Two-Stepping visitors, Billy Bob’s Texas replaced the iconic dance floor this week. Today, the new dance floor will open with one lucky couple getting the opportunity for the First Dance. Dance enthusiasts are encouraged to register at 4:30 with the Ribbon Cutting and First Dance at 5 pm, each registrant will receive a segment of the historic old dance floor. In addition to the millions of visitors that have enjoyed the 2000 square foot dance floor, it has been featured in the movies “Necessary Roughness”, “Pure Country”, “Baja, Oklahoma”, “Over The Top” and music videos including the most recent one by the popular band Midland.
Today, May 30th will be the ribbon cutting ceremony and you could be one of the first to dance on the new dance floor. What’s happening to the rest of the old dance floor? Well, it’ll be available to purchase at the Billy Bob’s gift shop.
