Eric Church has had it with ticket scalpers, and is planning to do something about it. He has recently reclaimed and cancelled over 25,000 tickets. Those cancelled tickets he is reclaiming he is selling exclusively through his website.
Eric Church told the Associated Press “We’re getting better at identifying who the scalpers are. Every artist can do this, but some of them don’t. Some of them don’t feel the way I feel or are as passionate.”
The reasoning behind battling scalpers is to make his concerts more affordable to blue collar workers, and fans with large families. The singer quoted, “There’s guys out there that want to come to a show and bring their family to a show and are working a blue-collar job, they were there for us in bars and clubs, so I should raise to $100 because that’s what the scalpers think? I refuse to believe that.”
Eric Church’s concert tour wraps up May 27, in Nashville,TN.
