If you remember last fall, Blake Shelton sued “In Touch” Magazine for claiming that he was a binge-drinking drunk who was forced into rehab after his ex-wife Miranda Lambert caught him in bed with a bunch of naked women. They went on to say Blake was a mess and would be drinking vodka before 11am, showing up to The Voice hammered, and drunkenly peeing on a mailbox. Well, ‘In Touch’ tried to get the $2 million dollar lawsuit thrown out, claiming that what they said about Blake was “substantially true”
Blake has filed an 8-page sworn declaration in his lawsuit against In Touch magazine saying that what they had published was false:
“I was not in rehab in September 2015. I have never been to rehab, nor have I ever considered going to rehab. I did not then, nor have I ever, hit ‘rock bottom.’ I do not drink excessively, binge drink, or have a drinking problem. I did not, as the (In Touch) story alleges, drink vodka before 11 am. I am never drunk, intoxicated or unable to perform my job on The Voice or elsewhere. I do not slur my words, or stumble when I drink. I have never urinated on a mailbox in public or otherwise. I did not start drinking at 14. I did not start drinking as a teenager. I did not start drinking to cope with my brother’s death.”
Here’s the cover of that magazine that got Blake Shelton fightin’ back! If a judge agrees with Blake, the $2 million lawsuit moves forward.
